I'm thinking of building one of these myself using an electric switchplate and without the vibration sensor (as that seemed to be the a minor issue for you.) Anyway, I wanted to know how your iphone was opening the door (via wifi, text, or some other signal) and if i could use an arduino controller instead. It would help me greatly if you could send me your source code for the iphone app and comp program.
Thanks, Matthew

Hi, I just found you by browsing the web.
Two things:
I own a machine shop in Middleboro, Ma, about 30 miles south of you. We do a wide range of machining. If you need specials, or if you have a device you'd like to produce please let me know.

the main reason though that I'm looking on the web is that I just got a 3GS iphone with 3.1.3 Baseband 05.12.01

I want to tether it. I searched all over the web and found many sites that say they can do it, (jailbreaking, unlock) but I don't know who to trust. Can you give me some direction?

Thanks, Paul

Hello. I am currently a student at Washington State University and a few months ago I decided to install a parallax rfid reader antenna inside of my door along with an arduino for the main brain, and a parallax servo to turn the door knob from the inside. I can swipe my wallet (containing the rfid tag) on the door from the outside and the reader captures and verifies the tag 10 digit code and turns the servo on the inside to open the door. My question is would you be willing to help me get the hardware and the right source code to use the iDoor app on my ipod touch to send a signal to the arduino to open the servo on the inside of the door? Any information would be greatly appreciated. I know my system isn't a sophisticated or complex as your system, but I believe I have a good start. Thanks

Hey Michael,

The app is actually just a special link that triggers the door. It wouldn't be much use to you I promise! =)

Hey- is the app actually available or did you build it from scratch? If it's published, is it also on Sprint's app market? Because I have a Palm Pre that would make my dorm a lot easier to manage...
